Why do I write what I write?
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the bones. (Proverbs 15:30, ESV)
“Refreshing the Bones” is informed by 4 decades abroad, perennially adapting to different customs, mindsets, and languages. My focus has been Gospel planting and discipleship… the kind that leads to healthy spiritual communities (i.e., churches). I enjoy conveying the best news… the kind that refreshes deeply and encourages lastingly.
I’m an avid seeker of things that are less nationalistic, more quintessential, and universal in scope.
God’s kingdom is a spiritual kingdom. It cannot be encircled by geographical boundaries. It is governed by its own set of rules. Hence, the challenge is to keep its purposes, principles, and activities to the fore.
nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you. (Luke 17:21, ESV)
God grant us insight and composure. May we be model citizens of his kingdom!
