Wading through the cesspool of untrustworthy news/information websites quickly has me deciding just to stop. So, I got excited this morning as I read some great stuff from sources I already know to be credible.
Two articles I heartily recommend:
A few years ago, Carol and I sat in on a few sessions of Pastoral Theology presented by Dr. John E. Johnson. I am a subscriber to his blog. Here is a link to this morning’s email from him: A Most Unsettling but Needful Prayer
In Dr. Johnson’s list of things he’s read lately, appears an article by someone else I’m already familiar with. Anne Applebaum is the author of another book on my shelf:
"Gulag: A History” which won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction.
Her recent article in THE ATLANTIC is lengthy, but worth a careful read all the way to the end: America Needs a Better Plan to Fight Autocracy
Lord, help us all to be centered on how best to live and pray and serve today in God’s kingdom on earth.
